Agreed. I'm not a gen-Xer, but I learned two things growing up queer in Texas: I'd be a fool to make my emotional well-being contingent on other people not being prejudiced (and if I do that, the only one who suffers is me), and you can't necessarily predict how someone's attitudes might change over time. Shutting out anyone who says anything I think is wrong seems to be denying both points.
